*Who is war hero Major General Ian Cardozo?

Major Cardozo is a great symbol of valor, courage and fearlessness.  He was the Major General of the 5th Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army.  In the wars of 1962, 1965 and 1971, he broke as a time on the enemy.  He was badly injured in a bomb blast during the 1971 Battle of Sylhet between India and Pakistan.  His foot had fallen on the landmine, due to which his leg was badly damaged.  No medical help was also available on the spot.  In such a situation, he cut his own foot with khukri and buried it there and immortalized his story.
